Child's development is crucial during the first five years of his life.
One way to encourage children to continue having a quiet time is by providing them activities which are non-stimulating such as puzzles and Quiet books. With the toddlers’ ceaseless energy, the little minds need time to recharge. The latter was a very useful tool for me when I was still a preschool teacher in keeping the kids who don’t take a nap occupied.
A Quiet book contains several fabric pages filled with engaging activities. Unlike electronic gadgets, Quiet book provides many valuable skills for intellectual and creative development without adverse side effects. The benefits include fine motor skills, problem solving, eye coordination and hand dexterity, concentration, logical and mathematical concepts, spatial imagination, creative skills, sorting and matching, and practical life skills such as buttoning, shoe lace tying, zipping, and bow tying.
Conversely, Quiet book can also be used to keep a child occupied during doctor’s visit, church and travel.

Wow - I wish I had these when I was little! They look just fabulous for keeping boys and girls occupied during quiet time. Love the various examples that are available as shown in the videos.
ReplyDeleteThanks! They are really pretty.
DeleteThese books look so cool!! I love how they are all fabric. I also think the idea of quiet time is very important. I know when I was little, that's when I did most of my learning. But instead of playing with a book, I had a calculator with big buttons that I used to play with. I am an engineer now, and I secretly wonder if that is why :)
ReplyDeleteProbably! I think kids love anything that they could manipulate. :)
DeleteWhat a great way to teach little ones skills while also being fun. I totally agree that kids need a break from stimulation, especially now that even babies seem to have their own tablets.
ReplyDeleteYes, I know. Tablet is the worst thing ever invented for babies!
DeleteI love this idea! Such a great way to give children some downtime to focus and do something creative. Hoping more parents will try these books instead of relying on iPads to distract their kids.

DeleteQuiet books are so sweet. My children are already teenagers, so I can not give them these great books, but that's why I buy them as a gift to the children of my friends. I even tried to make it, but it did not look like I wanted to. LOL.
